A cycle journey without ending

A Ride For Life is a cycle journey without ending, around the North York Moors National Park. On the cycle journey I hope to meet people who are enjoying the countryside - you! Chat to you, exchange points of view and to encourage you to use this information website.

A Ride For Life has no material or pecuniary interest in any of the information or companies found in links to external websites contained on this website. A Ride For Life is produced from an experience-based engineering and countryside background. The website provides a single source of information for you, on topics relating to climate change, your carbon footprint, the plight of nature and the countryside, and the effect this is having on everyone's health, welfare, and financial security.

Why it matters

Enjoying the countryside in nice weather and seeing wildlife in a natural habitat, is a wonderful way for us to naturally de-stress and enhance our mental and physical wellbeing. Unfortunately, our countryside and wildlife are being depleted to such a point that some species of flora and fauna are on the edge of being lost forever. Losing species results in an imbalance of the ecology in our natural environment - which includes soil, land, air and sea. This imbalance does not just affect the natural world and nature, it affects us human beings too.

We are an important part of nature. We all have an important part to play in preserving and enhancing nature, to help support the health and wellbeing of current and future generations of OUR species. For this purpose, change needs to happen. Change MUST happen and together, we CAN make it happen.

Everyone has the opportunity to make a difference, and leave a legacy for our children and grandchildren. We hope the contents of this website will help you find something, however small, that you can do, and feel good about, for the benefit of yourself, your family and future generations to come.

Do a little. Do a lot. Do nothing. It's YOUR choice.

Thank you for your interest. We hope you have fun using this website and finding your own way of helping combat climate change, enhance nature, and enjoy doing it!

Who is behind it

A Ride For Life is the creation of Rob Heap, a retired engineer and an enthusiastic cyclist, who enjoys cycling around the beautiful North York Moors National Park. In recent decades, Rob has seen how our climate is warming, how our environment, ecosystems and nature are suffering, and how difficult this situation will make life for future generations of Homo sapiens (us) on our precious planet. Rob has identified that there is a need for a website that explains these issues, the consequences of them, and offers some solutions, all in one place. This is why A Ride For Life has been created.

Rob continues to cycle around the North York Moors National Park to promote A Ride For Life, and encourage more people like you to visit this website. Rob hopes this website will encourage you to explore and adopt some ideas, that if adopted, will address the most fundamental challenges that we, and future generations will face this millennium.

A Ride For Life is grateful for your visit to this website today. We hope you will find it interesting and informative, and you will bookmark this site so you can return to it time and time again.
